Georgia Driving with Suspended License - DWLS - Attorney
When your license is suspended, your driving privileges are taken away for a period of time. At the end of that time, you can apply to have your license reinstated.
What happens if you're charged with driving on a suspended License in Georgia?
Driving with a suspended license can result in jail time! It depends on the circumstances.
Driving with a suspended drivers license is considered a misdemeanor and if you are convicted you have to server at least two days in jail and pay a minimum fine of $500.00. Additionally, you will receive a longer suspension on your driving privileges. You may also incur the cost of two defensive driving courses and twice the licenses reinstatement fee.
If it's a second offense or subsequent charge, you have to server a minimum of 10 days in jail and the minimum fine goes up to $1,000.
If you've been charged with driving on a suspended license, you will need an experienced defense attorney to help you defend the offense.
